THE ANIA COLLECTION A collection of beautifully designed and artfully constructed necklaces, earrings, and bracelets made using the finest gem stones and pearls, sterling silver, or stainless on sterling silver wire.   Ania was born in Gdansk, Poland, which has been called the "capital city for amber" for many centuries. She still lives in Gdansk with her husband Jacek, and her three children, Zosia, Marysia and their new baby Franek. Ania was fond of arts and creation even as a child but as a student at Poznan University, she studied psychology. During her University years she met and married Art History student, Jacek. After graduating she practiced at a School and Family Psychological Center as a Psychologist. While working she completed postgraduate studies in psychotherapy and psychological aid. She continued her work with children and their families in communication and crisis situations. She led workshops for parents to assist them in communications and other parent-child difficulty areas. During this time Ania, realized her artistic aspirations and worked in this area at home. She worked with dried flowers, arranging interiors, painting pottery. She slowly began selling these items during the summer season in Gdansk and these sales became a source of seasonal family income. During this busy time, Ania, also gave birth to three children, Zosia now almost 9 years, Marysia just 3 years, and their third child, Franek who was born in March 2005. When Marysia was born Ania stopped psychology practice outside of her home and began seeing some patients in her home. This allowed her to be at home for her children. Her husband, Jacek, by this time had his own office service company and signed a contract with the Amber Association and became involved in various amber projects. This is when she was directly confronted with amber. She recognized amber by having a chance to know its history, touching it, comparing its colors and smelling it and seeing it polished. She felt that she was having a direct contact with pure nature. Some time later Jacek changed his company profile into the amber trade and production company. That is when she started drawing and designing jewelry and with time she gathered enough experience to make jewelry herself. She started using other gems and with a great deal of joy she mixed them with amber and feels that she truly does have nature in her hands. The process of making the jewelry and handling the natural stones gives her so much satisfaction. Sometimes she does need a little babysitting help from Grandmothers but I don’t think they mind too much! ANIA'S AMBER JEWELRY P.O.
